Current edition, ICMAMS 5
The International Conference on Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures (ICMAMS) is a premier scientific event closely associated with the journal Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures (MAMS), published by Taylor & Francis. As a flagship initiative of the journal, the conference brings together leading experts, researchers, and professionals from academia and industry to present and discuss the latest advances in the mechanics of advanced materials, smart structures, and computational modeling.
ICMAMS serves as a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary exchange, fostering collaboration and innovation across areas such as composites, architected materials, nanostructured systems, and multiscale modeling. The conference welcomes contributions that span analytical, numerical, and experimental approaches, as well as emerging themes such as machine learning applications, additive manufacturing, and integrated computational materials engineering.
With a strong emphasis on cutting-edge research and global engagement, ICMAMS offers participants the opportunity to network with prominent figures in the field, contribute to high-impact discussions, and be part of shaping the future of materials and structural mechanics.

Last edition, ICMAMS 4

The 4th edition of ICMAMS took place in Bangalore, India, from December 11–13, 2024, hosted by the Ramaiah Institute of Technology, a renowned institution in engineering and applied sciences. The event brought together over 200 participants from around the globe, including leading researchers, emerging scholars, and industry experts.
The conference featured keynote lectures by internationally recognized scientists, including Professor J.N. Reddy, founder of the Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures journal, and Professor Erasmo Carrera, Editor of MAMS and professor at Politecnico di Torino. The technical program spanned a wide range of cutting-edge topics, from non-local mechanics and architected materials to machine learning in structural engineering, multiscale modeling, and fracture and damage mechanics.
A highlight of the conference was the awarding of the J.N. Reddy Medal to Professor Somnath Ghosh (Johns Hopkins University, USA), in recognition of his outstanding contributions to multiscale computational mechanics and materials science. ICMAMS 2024 not only advanced scientific knowledge but also strengthened ties between academia and industry, reinforcing its role as a key forum for the global mechanics community.
